The promotion of home solar power generation faces three barriers
Added:2020-11-25     Views:

Business News, March 19 - With the release of the State Grid last month on the work of distributed power grid services, promising to promote the integration of photovoltaic, wind power, natural gas and other distributed power into the state grid, individual power generation self-sufficient, even connected to the grid for money has become the hottest topic.

Zhu Jianbing, from Yangjia New Village, Jincheng Avenue, Lianhua County, successfully connected 220 volts of distributed photovoltaic power generation in Jiangxi, the first residential user distributed photovoltaic power generation project, to the grid on March 12 after the installation of the grid metering device, the signing of the power Generation Contract, and the grid acceptance and commissioning, Yangcheng Evening News reported. However, reporters in Guangzhou for several days found that even the most likely solar power generation, within a year or two to be connected to the grid to make money is just a pie in the sky.

The threshold house has a roof of 200 square meters

"It's an interesting topic." "As far as we know, south China University of Technology and university town all have solar power stations, which are also pilot plants," Lu Guojun, president of the Power Experimental Research Institute of Guangzhou Power Supply Bureau Co., LTD. (HEREINAFTER referred to as "POWER Experimental Research Institute"), said with a smile when interviewed by reporters. As for small-scale household electricity generation (with the exception of solar water heaters), there is very little."

Why is that? Very simple, solar power generation "hard damage" many. "The roof of our research institute has also done an experimental solar energy, just solar panels area, already more than 200 square meters. At its strongest, the sun can produce 16 degrees of electricity an hour, barely enough for a home." "If installed on the roof, the demand for this area is larger than the average villa roof can be placed," Lu said.

The reporter understands, Guangzhou tall building is numerous, but the space that can install solar panel is not big enough, more troublesome is, attic rooftop often is "influence residence exterior" ground is blocked by matter tube, and still with "need to ask other owner to agree" make the installation of solar panel more difficult.

In addition, the electricity generated by solar energy is direct current. If it needs to be used by itself or connected to the grid, multiple control instruments such as an inverter must be configured. Moreover, solar energy is an unstable energy source. "When the sun is good, electricity generation is sufficient, but the efficiency is poor on cloudy days. A conservative estimate here in Guangzhou is that if we could get six hours of light a day, we would have to have batteries." "Mr. Lu said. For the 16 kilowatt-hours, the institute also has a separate 20-square-meter room as the control room, with controllers, inverters and lithium-ion batteries.

Threshold 2 one-time investment 400 thousand yuan, who is willing?

If the size of your home meets the requirements, how much would you need to invest to generate electricity? "Our total investment here is 400,000 yuan, including all kinds of solar panels, control instruments, batteries, inverters and so on. The panels work efficiently for 20 years, and with six hours of light, it's estimated that it will take 12 to 13 years to pay for itself." "As long as there are no maintenance costs for the system," he added.

Assuming the sun is strong enough to generate 16 kilowatt-hours of electricity every hour, over 20 years the device could generate about 700,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity at a cost of about $0.57 per kilowatt-hour without any maintenance. "It's almost impossible, because the sun won't be available every hour, and then over the next 20 years, you're going to need to replace some of the parts, like the supports under the panels." "Said one power industry insider.

The insider also calculated, "To put it another way, let's say that a household consumes 500 kilowatt-hours of electricity per month. This is already a relatively high level of electricity consumption. In 20 years, the household only needs to consume 120,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity. Not counting the tiered electricity price, which is just 0.61 yuan per kilowatt-hour, the household will spend only 73,000 yuan over 20 years. In comparison, I'm afraid that not many families want to really invest in solar power."

The purchase price of threshold 3 is not clear, whether it can make money is not known

The reporter also learned that there is no clear purchase price for domestic solar power grid. According to July 2011, the National Development and Reform Commission on the notice to perfect the solar photovoltaic power generation feed-in tariff policy, "on July 1, 2011 and after approval of solar photovoltaic power generation project, and approved before July 1, 2011 but as of December 31, 2011 has not yet been built and put into production of solar photovoltaic power generation project, in addition to Tibet is still the implementation of 1.15 yuan per KWH feed-in tariff, the rest of the provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the feed-in tariffs are 1 yuan per KWH."

The feed-in tariff, however, is for solar plants, and home generation is unlikely to reach the same price. It is understood that the National Development and Reform Commission has recently issued to some government agencies and relevant photovoltaic power generation enterprises the "Notice on Improving photovoltaic power generation Price Policy" draft opinions, put forward a new implementation plan for photovoltaic power generation on-grid electricity price. According to media disclosure, the country is divided into four types of solar energy resource zones, which have set a benchmark feed-in tariff of 0.75 yuan to 1 yuan per kilowatt-hour. It also distinguishes distributed generation from large ground power stations, among which the distributed generation price subsidy is 0.35 yuan/KWH.

"Home generation is arguably more like distributed generation, so there is speculation in the industry that it will move towards that price." Power insider analysis said. The reporter also learned from his work that some residents in Tianjin applied to be incorporated into the State Grid, and the purchase price adopted by the state Grid was 0.4118 yuan per kilowatt hour.

Based on State Grid prices, the institute's solar unit could sell only about 290,000 yuan in electricity over 20 years.
