Product purity


Purity is a key indicator of the quality of CSP heat transfer oil. CSP systems require high purity of heat transfer oil. Low purity heat transfer oil is difficult to maintain a long service life.

The production process determines the purity of the heat transfer oil. Chen Hao said that the purity of products produced by different production processes is different. At the same time, during the use of heat transfer oil, due to human error and other reasons, foreign matter will also be mixed and the purity of the heat transfer oil will be reduced. Its impurities may quickly degrade the oil and become invalid, shortening the service life of the heat transfer oil. What's more serious is that if unsafe chemicals are mixed in, it may react with the heat transfer oil at high temperatures, bringing unpredictable safety risks to the system. Therefore, the purity of CSP heat transfer oil must be as close as possible to 100%, no matter from the service life of the heat transfer oil or from the perspective of safety.


Service life


Whether it is mineral or synthetic heat transfer oil, it has the commonality of organic matter, that is, thermal cracking and oxidation reactions occur at high temperatures. In the trough solar thermal power generation system, the temperature of the heat transfer oil is maintained in the high temperature range of 293°C to 398°C. After a period of operation, different degrees of cracking will occur, that is, part of the heat transfer oil is converted into low boiling substances. High boilers and insoluble pyrolysis products change its quality. This phenomenon directly affects the service life of heat transfer oil. Therefore, when the low-boiling and high-boiling substances precipitated by the heat transfer oil reach a certain ratio after several years of use, it needs to be eliminated.
